Matthias Tauber (42) has been Head of BCG in Germany and Austria since April 2019. He is in charge of advising clients in the process industry worldwide. His clients include companies in the chemical, building materials, and metal industries. Under his leadership, sales in these sectors nearly doubled within two years.
The focus of his work as Head of BCG in Germany and Austria is advising on digital transformation, dealing with climate change, and coping with the economic consequences of the pandemic, whereby driving innovations such as advanced analytics, blockchain, and Industry 4.0 is just as central as combining strategy consulting with the services of BCG units such as BCG Digital Ventures, BrightHouse, GAMMA, Inverto, and Platinion.
Beyond his work for BCG clients, Matthias Tauber has been involved in the company’s people development activities for many years and has accompanied numerous colleagues on their career path.
Matthias Tauber studied civil engineering at Vienna University of Technology and holds a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singapore. He has worked for BCG since 2003, first in the Vienna and then in the Munich office, and was elected Partner in 2012.
He says that he became a consultant because he wanted his work to make a real impact on companies and on society.
