Liv Adler studied chemistry at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau. In her PhD thesis she revealed a new bio catalytic way to degrade aromatic compounds in Nature.
Having an interest not only in degrading but in closing the cycle and producing materials, Liv joined Lanxess Deutschland GmbH in Leverkusen in 2011, where she managed various international cooperation with academia and industry partners targeting the production of renewable chemical building blocks for the chemical industry using bio or inorganic catalysts.
2014 – 2017 Liv worked as Senior Consultant for Public Funding and Technology Alliances at Bayer Technology Services GmbH and Bayer AG.
In November 2017 Liv joined Covestro Deutschland AG and took over the coordination of the EU-funded project Carbon4PUR. This project aimed at converting industrial waste gases from steel industry to valuable, more sustainable polyurethanes for building insulations and coatings.
Since April 2021, Liv is Focus Area Lead for biomass based projects at Covestro.
