Dr. Daniel Stelter is the founder of the forum beyond the obvious, which specializes in strategy and macroeconomics. After completing his doctorate at the University of St. Gallen, he was a management consultant at the international strategy consultancy The Boston Consulting Group from 1990 to 2013, most recently as Senior Partner, Managing Director and member of the BCG Executive Committee. From 2003 to 2011, he was responsible for the worldwide business of the BCG practice group Corporate Development (Strategy and Corporate Finance).
Stelter advises international companies in dealing with crises and is a sought-after speaker. His columns appear regularly for Manager Magazin, Focus and Cicero, among others. He is the author of several non-fiction books. His most recent publication was in 2018 THE FAIRY TALE OF THE RICH COUNTRY (Spiegel and Manager Magazin Bestseller). The book not only exposes the fairy tale of the „rich country“, but also shows ways in which we can escape a nightmare scenario, because we are not the „rich country“ as the media and politicians always claim.
